Healthcare is not a partisan issue, it is a basic human right. As Congressman, Steven Reynolds will fight for universal healthcare for Tennessee. Steven Reynolds view on health care is based around the idea that “accessible, affordable, high quality health care is part of the American promise, that Americans should have the security that comes with good health care.” Steven Reynolds believes that no American should have to face financial destitution because they fall ill or get injured, stating that “no one should have to choose between taking their child to a doctor and paying the rent.” Steven is a firm supporter of laws that prevent insurance companies from denying coverage to Americans with pre-existing medical conditions, capping or canceling coverage, or charging women more due to their gender.
Under the Affordable Care Act, states have the option of expanding medicaid. By not expanding Medicaid in Tennessee, the state loses $2.5 million a day of federal funding. This means billions of our tax dollars are going to other states and more than 300,000 Tennesseans have been left without affordable health insurance. As Congressman, Steven Reynolds will work on expanding medicaid here in Tennessee.
